Soft Flannel Hank
Once upon a time, in an Instagram Live far, far away, a friend brought up a certain book series with some… sparkling personalities. The group commented that we know that we’re all grown because we’re squarely Team {redacted]’s Dad. We bemoaned the fact that said dad, while oozing with potential, was given no personality to speak of other than “plaid,” looking bewildered, and being baffled by vegetarianism.
And thus an idea was born.
What if we wrote a romance about a 45 year old dad in a tiny town in the Pacific Northwest. What if we gave him a rich backstory and full inner monologue? What if he was as burly as he is heartbroken? And what if he fell in love with a 34 year old bisexual witch who’s got a big ol’ secret?
And that, children, is how Hank Dove came to be. Soft Flannel Hank (a play on Mazey Edding’s brilliant term, Soft Flannel Daddy) is a serialized novel in progress. A new chapter draft posts every two weeks on Pateron and patrons will play a huge role in deciding what happens for Hank.
Is it steamy? Very.
Is it paranormal? AF.
Are there vampires? You betcha.
But do they look like they took a nose-dive into a kindergarten craft bin? Not on your life.
Praise for Soft Flannel Hank
